Road Traffic Law

We understand how important it is to be able to drive.

Life is hard enough without the added stress of having to rely on public transport.

Without a licence, you can lose your job, which can then lead to issues. Not to mention the costs of higher insurance and now the courts can even confiscate your car!

Every day, our award winning team of road traffic specialist solicitors represent drivers up and down Scotland using their expertise and technical knowledge of road traffic law to keep our clients driving.

Whether defending a charge or mitigating a guilty plea, you need robust representation by a specialist.

We have a comprehensive knowledge of road traffic law, the latest cases, the best defences and access to expert investigators who challenge crown evidence, finding loopholes and solutions where others find problems.

We have represented over 900 clients in the past two years alone which makes our team one of the busiest in the country. Clients trust us because we deliver results.

Nicholas Scullion has been at the cutting edge of road traffic defence for over 30 years. He specialises in high value complex cases and likes nothing better than to challenge traffic police evidence. Over the years he has uncovered many cases where sloppy paperwork and calibration have led to cases being dropped. His court performances are second to none.

Robert Sheridan has been shortlisted at the Law Awards for his specialist road traffic expertise. Over the last 18 months, he has had a 100% success rate in winning exceptional hardship cases preventing totting up bans.

Nicholas Scullion, Ruth McBride and Rhonda Anderson are also members of the highly skilled team and we cover all courts in Scotland.

We represent both Private Clients and offer Legal Aid, our fees are competitive and we can even offer no win no fee.

Senior Partner

At the age of 22, Founding Partner Nicholas James Scullion went as a mature student to Glasgow University where he was Honorary Secretary of the Union, Scottish Universities' Lightweight Boxing Champion and a member of the University's Air Squadron. His apprenticeship as a Solicitor was under the guidance of Sir James Falconer at Glasgow City Chambers where he learned about various aspects of local government including Planning, Licensing and Conveyancing and Leasing.

After gaining experience in various Local Authorities he decided to go into Private Practice on his own account and in 1979 opened Nicholas J. Scullion & Co. Solicitors as a sole Practitioner in Hamilton. He quickly developed a successful reputation as an excellent Court Lawyer, winning cases other firms would not take on and by 2010 the Firm had won the accolade of being voted Criminal Law Firm of the Year.

Mr Scullion now represents Private Clients throughout the whole of Scotland, both in the Courts and specialist areas such as VAT, Medical Disciplinary Tribunals and Road Traffic Defence. He also specialises in Fatal Accident and Planning Enquiries.
