  1. Residential Conveyancing Senior Solicitor, 5 years + PQE, Glasgow or Hamilton

The Role

We currently have an opportunity within the Senior Solicitor team of our Residential Property Department.

The purpose of the Senior Solicitor team is to support our fee earners by assisting them with complex issues that can arise within standard residential conveyancing transactions in addition to dealing with your own case load of more complex transactions.

We are instructed in residential property work from a number of areas of Scotland meaning that in addition to volume work, we also bring in a varied and interesting case load which requires the attention of an experienced solicitor.

Essential Skills

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:-

  • Excellent technical skills in dealing with all aspects of residential conveyancing including examination of title with particular emphasis on Sasine title
  • Experience in dealing with a broad range of residential property transactions
  • Excellent attention to detail in identifying issues that would potentially expose us, our clients or their lenders to risk
  • Excellent problem solving skills coupled with knowledge of compliance requirements (in particular the CML handbook) so that any issues identified can be resolved in a compliant manner
  • Excellent client relationship skills in order to manage clients expectations, ensure their experience of dealing with our firm is positive with the aim of maintaining our outstanding reputation and securing repeat business from both private clients and referrers
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions (at an appropriate level) following an accurate analysis of the information available
  • Self-confidence to recognise own limitations and seek guidance from other members of the team as and when required
  • Excellent time management skills with an ability to be flexible to accommodate changing priorities to meet the needs of the Senior Solicitor team and Residential Property Department as a whole
  • The ability to work as part of a team to meet organisational goals
  • Enthusiasm about, and a desire to progress your career in, Property Law

Salary

Salary is negotiable depending on experience and we offer a benefits package. The successful applicants would be based at our Hamilton office for initial training and probation.

      2. Residential Conveyancing Solicitor or Paralegal, Glasgow or Hamilton

The Role

We currently have an opportunity within our Residential Property Department for either:-

  • a Solicitor with a minimum of 3 years PQE in residential property; or
  • an experienced paralegal with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in residential property

We are a busy team with a unique set up which is designed to ensure that in addition to our clients receiving outstanding customer service, our fee earners have the support which enables them to maintain high service standards while dealing with a relatively high case load.

We are instructed in residential property work from a number of areas of Scotland meaning that in addition to volume work, we also bring in a varied and interesting case load.

You will be supported by our new business team who deal with all new enquiries and submission of offers and also our Senior Solicitor team who will assist you with complex aspects of transactions.

Essential Skills

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:-

  • Experience in dealing with all aspects of residential property transactions including post settlement work such as preparation and submission of LBTT returns and preparation of registration forms
  • Experience in dealing with a broad range of residential property transactions including:-
    • Purchase and sale transactions
    • New build transactions
    • Re-mortgages
    • Executry conveyancing including purchases from estates, transfers of title and sales
    • Matrimonial conveyancing including implementing minutes of agreements on sales and transfers of title
    • Insolvency conveyancing including re-possession purchases and sales and purchasing from or selling on behalf of a party who is insolvent
  • Excellent client relationship skills in order to manage clients expectations, ensure their experience of dealing with our firm is positive with the aim of maintaining our outstanding reputation and securing repeat business from both private clients and referrers
  • Ability to manage your own case load with the self-confidence to recognise own limitations and seek guidance from other members of the team as and when required
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • The ability to work as part of a team to meet organisational goals

3. Receptionist

The Role

We are looking for a receptionist to join our team in our Hamilton office. Working alongside the existing receptionist, the role will include:

  • Greeting clients
  • Call handling
  • Management of diaries, meeting rooms and front of house
  • Administration duties

As client care is at the core of Scullion LAW, the receptionist will be required to deliver a high level of service and manage clients expectations.

 

The receptionist will require the following:

   4. Private Client Solicitor

This is an opportunity to join a growing law firm with offices in Glasgow City Centre, Glasgow West End and Hamilton.

The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced, caring and passionate solicitor to further develop our established Private Client Department.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 7 years PQE in executory administration, wills, power of attorneys, guardianships and trusts. STEP qualification highly desirable.

The candidate will have the drive and confidence to handle their own caseload of private client cases and be comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
