Our community is at the heart of Scullion LAW.

Our commitment to the community

Below is a summary of the work we do in the community.

Scullion LAW were the first law firm in Scotland to proudly win the first Scottish Legal Award for our Commitment to the Community in 2016. We care for others and believe ‘in a world where you can be anything – BE KIND’ and this has been the core of our business since 1979. We offer legal solutions to people and in addition to the services we offer, we go above and beyond outside of work to show we care. Most recently due to COVID19 we donated money to ensure that everyone working at Marie Curie, Scotland and others on the frontline had access to the PPE and hand sanitiser needed. We also offered a free Will writing service to everyone in the NHS and carers, as a thank you to them for looking after our MD Nicholas Scullion who was in the Queen Elizabeth for 10 days. A small act of kindness towards others every day goes a long way.

Be kind always.

Support network 2020 – 2022

At Scullion LAW we recognise the last 18+ months have been challenging for everyone. As such, demand for our services has risen and to help people who may be struggling we have collaborated with a wide network of coaches, therapists and counsellors to establish our support network. You can click here to access more information. It was set up to help individuals and families who are in need of emotional support in addition to legal support and every new family client receives a complimentary 20 minute call. The skills set and experience of each therapist, coach and counsellor is unique. Take a few moments to read their bios and find someone who is the right fit for you. The main aim of the network is to support people before – during and after separation/ divorce. Email info@scullionlaw.com to be put in touch.

FREE Wills in aid of Marie Curie, Scotland 2014-2021.

Since 2014 we have been running our FREE Will writing campaign for everyone across Scotland aged 18+ in aid of Marie Curie Scotland. The FREE-WILL scheme continues to go from strength to strength, with thanks for the continued generosity and kindness of people in our community. Together we have generated a substantial amount of future income for the charity (upwards of £250,000) to care and support people living with a terminal illness. Every £20 raised in donations helps pay for one hour of nursing care. Every £180 raised, pays for someone with a terminal illness to attend the day therapy unit at the hospice. Every £1,250 raised pays for a portable oxygen system that will relieve distressing symptoms, so a person doesn’t have to be confined to bed. Every £ makes a positive difference especially in 2020 due to a lot of the fundraising events being cancelled due to covid. So the charity need our help and support now more than ever.

Scullion LAW Annual Debating Cup 2009-2019

Scullion LAW are proud to continue working closely with schools throughout North and South Lanarkshire. For the last 10 years we have been working closely with local MSPs, teachers and businesses to guide students through the art of public speaking in the hope they will grow in confidence, form opinions of their own and realise their views actually DO matter. We listen. We find the talent in our community so inspiring. We would like to thank all the teachers, pupils and staff that continue to take part in the annual Scullion LAW Debating Cup. The competition was last held on November 2019 (postponed 2020 due to COVID19).

Kiltwalk 2019 & 2020

A few of us took part in the 23 mile #Kiltwalk19 from Glasgow Green to Loch Lomond on April 28th 2019. We raised over £2,400 as a team for charities close to our hearts and this was topped up by 40% by the Tom Hunter Foundation. We all really enjoyed taking part and kept each other going throughout the 23 miles. Emma,Sarah and Liz walked for Marie Curie, Gordon walked for Classrooms in Malawi, Nicholas walked in aid of Oxfam and Diana walked in aid of the Catherine McEwan Foundation, Glasgow to raise awareness of Inflammatory Bowel Disease. In 2020 we did the virtual walk (due to the main event being postponed) and raised more money thanks to Sir Tom Hunter for topping up all donations by 100%. Diana McLeish our Marketing Manager walked 28 miles from Bearsden beyond Loch Lomond along the West Highland Way.

We care about our team and want to shout out about LAWCARE.

We at Scullion LAW want to continue to create a healthy and supportive working environment for all our staff and their mental health. You may ask what exactly is mental health? Well…. In a nutshell it is our emotional, psychological and social well-being. Mental health, affects how we feel, think and act and directly correlates to how we handle stress, make decisions and how we relate to others. We are in the work place for the majority of our day and we want to stress to everyone that there is support if you require it. The support on offer is completely confidential. Remember it takes a stronger person to admit that they don’t have all the answers when it comes to dealing with uncomfortable emotions or feelings!
