Congratulations to our Solicitor Advocate Urfan Dar of Scullion LAW and his friends who have raised over £32,000 for Islamic Relief

Congratulations

We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Urfan Dar, a Criminal Solicitor Advocate at Scullion LAW and his friends for raising such a substantial amount of income for Islamic Relief. They recently cycled 137 miles coast to coast between the Irish Sea and the North Sea, from Cumbria to Tyneside, passing through the northern Lake District before climbing the Pennines and descending to the railway paths of County Durham.

Making a positive difference.

All money raised will go towards supporting Al – Rantisi, a children’s cancer hospital in Gaza, Palestine. Funds will go towards the education of children undergoing treatment. Having an illness like cancer is difficult enough however, children here are also living in one of the most challenging places in the world and need our help.

Going that extra mile

Fundraising is a key part of our culture here at Scullion LAW.

We actively encourage our team to challenge themselves by doing something out of the ordinary for a cause close to their hearts. Every year we sign up to something.

In the past we have seen our Family Solicitor Judith Higson and Conveyancing Clerk Gillian Brown zip slide across the River Clyde in aid of Alzheimer Scotland and various colleagues have completed the Kiltwalk from Glasgow Green to Loch Lomond (21 miles) in aid of Marie Curie. In addition to this various colleagues have ran 10k, half marathons and completed memory walks. We are passionate about supporting the community around us.

This has seen us win a National Fundraising Excellence Award in aid of Marie Curie 2020 and we were shortlisted for GBA Healthy & Active Workplace 2019 as part of the Glasgow Business Awards. We believe ‘there is more in all of us’ and by actively encouraging fundraising/ motivating the team to sign up to fresh challenges it pushes people out of their comfort zones and gives them a great sense of achievement whilst making a positive difference to others.
