There are over 35 members of staff at Scullion LAW and we would like to introduce you to them one by one over the next few weeks.
To start things off I would like to introduce you to Stuart Gilmour who works in the New Business Team.
‘Scullion LAW ignited a drive for success I never knew I had, and gave me the support and encouragement I needed to reach my goals’.
I began work with Scullion LAW in August 2014 on an 8 week work placement basis from the Job Centre, following this I was successful in obtaining full time employment with the company and will be celebrating my fourth anniversary in October.
Initially, I started with Scullion LAW in order to gain work experience and help find full time employment at a time when I was struggling to do so. However, after starting my work placement I soon realised this was the place I wanted to work, and these were the people I wanted to work with. From then on my goal was to develop and stand out as I knew a full time role at the end of my placement was not a guarantee, it would depend on how I performed. Thankfully I was successful and was offered a position in the firm.
I began work as an office junior within the Support team. I spent my days scanning in mail, running errands, taking calls, and locating files. Thanks to my fellow colleagues supporting my development I was able to get moved from Support, and into the Conveyancing Team to start was a Conveyancing Clerk. Following my time spent in the Conveyancing Team I was then moved to my current role as New Business Clerk.
My job role now includes submitting offers on properties on behalf of our clients and preparing the files for the Conveyancing Team, such as downloading Title Deeds and drafting legal documents that will be needed throughout the transaction. I have been fortunate enough to have the support of my colleagues and management at Scullion LAW, and this shows, as I have recently been put onto a Paralegal Course at the University of Strathclyde.
When asked who inspires him within the team at Scullion LAW Stuart replied…
Gemma Brown is my inspiration – she is a shining example of hard work and perseverance. She is able to manage and balance such a high work load alongside her studies and family. I aim to model my entire work ethic on Gemma’s and reach for the top just like she has.
Diana McLeish Marketing Manager quotes ‘Thank you Stuart for taking the time to pull this inspiring feature together. You are a hard worker, loyal and popular with the wider team. We wish you every success with your course at the University of Strathclyde as you train to become a Paralegal with Scullion LAW’.
