Since 2015, the Wills & Future Planning team at Scullion LAW have helped nearly 600 people across Lanarkshire and Glasgow make a Free Will in aid of Marie Curie. We are delighted to be running the scheme for the fifth successful year, as part of our continued commitment to the community.
From the end of March to 31 May 2019 anyone aged 55+ residing in Scotland can contact us to make a FREE basic Will. For couples at the same address, only one person needs to be aged 55, so if you are a little younger you can still qualify.
We have offices Glasgow West End, Saltmarket and Hamilton. Home visits are also available upon request.
You can read all about the benefits of making a Will and what happens if you died without one (known as Intestate) here.
It would be really helpful if you could take the time to carefully consider your wishes for the future and complete the questionnaire as much as possible, before you come into the office. If there are any areas you are not sure of, just leave them blank and our Wills & Future Planning team will go over everything with you in more detail at the appointment.
A Will is the only legal way to specify what you would like to happen to your property and assets once you die. It allows you to appoint ‘beneficiaries’ ie. people and charities you wish to benefit from everything, in the future. Make a Will to protect the people and things that matter most to you. If you have a Will in place we recommend you review it every 3-5 years or as and when your personal circumstances change for example when you get married, divorced, re married, or if you have bought or sold property, inherited things etc.
A valid Will can ease suffering for your family and friends in the future, by allowing them to clearly sort out your Estate in keeping with your wishes. Having an up to date Will should hopefully avoid any additional or unnecessary distress saving valuable time and money.
Scullion LAW are the only law firm in Scotland running this Free Will scheme in aid of Marie Curie. With over 40 years’ experience we are a law firm you can trust. We will take the time to help your Executors understand the important role and responsibilities ahead of them and we will be here, by their side in the future to help them ‘administer your Estate’. Please let your Executors know once they have been appointed that your Will is at Scullion LAW. Your Executors may find this information helpful.
Sometimes it is just good to know we are here when you need us.

We are here to help when you need us, and whilst running the Free Will scheme throughout April and May, we are happy to offer significant discounts on the cost of creating a Power of Attorney.
