A wee note from Diana, Marketing Manager at Scullion LAW to thank everyone we work with for their continued contribution to the community.
“At Scullion LAW we are delighted to share some great news!! With thanks to the generosity of our valued clients and awesome colleagues, we have raised a collective total of £41,940 throughout 2019. I am sure that you will agree this is an impressive amount and something of which we should all be proud. So I am writing this blog as a Community Champion within Scullion LAW to say well done to everyone who took part in any sort of fundraising event throughout 2019.
I know you secretly love my gentle encouragement and I am so proud that so many of us signed up to give back to the community. Well done!!
Normally we are quite humble about everything that we achieve but as we are the ‘Community Contribution’ winners I think it is important for others to understand why as each and every single one of us, makes the effort. We invest our time, energy and passion into things that are important to us.
…because we care.
Together we achieve more. Teamwork makes the dream work.
Highlights from 2019 include.
The Kiltwalk, Glasgow April 2019 helped us raise £3500
Thank you to Sarah, Gordon, Liz, Nicholas, and Emma for walking 23 miles with me during the Kiltwalk from Glasgow Green to Loch Lomond. Together raised over £2500 which was topped up by a generous 40% by the Tom Hunter Foundation, which delivered over £3500 to good causes including Marie Curie, Oxfam, Classrooms in Malawi and the Catherine McEwan Foundation which helps fund research into IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Diseases such as Crohn’s & Colitis).
The zip slide across the River Clyde raised £400
Thank you to Judith who took part in the Zipslide across the River Clyde. This is the third year someone from Scullion LAW has taken part and we are delighted to be trained Dementia Friends. Alzheimer Scotland is a charity close to many of our hearts and we were all very proud of Judith taking part and overcoming her fear of heights. Strathclyde Memory Walk raised £300
Well done to our receptionist Yvonne who took part in a charity 5K around Hamilton Park Racecourse with her daughter and mum, in memory of her gran. They walked together to raise much needed money and awareness for Alzheimer Scotland and we are very proud of their achievement. Well done for taking part and a special thank you to everyone who donated towards your cause.
The Firewalk raised £665
In November 2019 Liz, Laura, Gordon, Judith, Diana and Emma walked across FIRE to raise money and awareness for Marie Curie, Scotland. Imotivagtt was a cold, rainy night but we were all in great spirits and kept motivated throughout. It was a cool experience and we would recommend it to others. Over £12,000 was raised on the night so well done to everyone else who took part and helped to raise so much money.
The Scullion LAW FREE Will scheme in aid of Marie Curie generated the rest of the money and generated a substantial amount of future income for the hospice from legacies which they will receive in the future. We have been working with Marie Curie now for 6 successful years and shall be rolling the FREE Will campaign out again in Spring 2020 which is available to everyone in Scotland aged 55 or over. So keep your eye out for details. Connect with us via Facebook/ScullionLAW & follow us on INSTAGRAM@ScullionLAW OR Twitter @ScullionLAW. We are also on LINKEDIN and would love to hear from you.
Wishing you all a very very peaceful Christmas and good wishes for the New Year.
