Our history
Founding Partner Nicholas James Scullion went to University at 22 as a mature student and did his apprenticeship at Glasgow City Chambers. He worked in the Public Sector for a few years before starting his own business in 1979.
Specialising in Conveyancing he moved into offices at 71 Quarry Street where he worked as a Sole Practitioner until the miners' strike when he diversified into court work. He quickly developed a reputation as an excellent court performer winning cases other solicitors would not take on. As the firm grew, Nicholas moved to 5 Church Street, Hamilton and by 1992 employed 7 solicitors.
With the arrival of Martin Carey, the Conveyancing Department was expanded and we began to offer Family and Civil Law. Over the last 30 years we have developed a reputation for excellent service, putting clients first while taking a professional and dynamic approach to legal issues.
This was recognised in 2010 with us winning at both Scottish Law Awards for our Criminal and Conveyancing departments, based on research and recommendations from satisfied clients.
We now employ a team of 25 professionals based in our new Headquarters at105 Cadzow Street, Hamilton and most recently we have expanded into the heart of Motherwell, 34 Brandon Parade.
Always evolving we have now rebranded as Scullion Law to organise our services into these departments: Criminal Law, Road Traffic Law, Financial Services, Property Law, Business Law, Civil Law, Wills & Estates, and Family Law.
Our values have remained the same over the years. Service. Commitment. Success.
Fresh, innovative and forward thinking, we always strive to improve our service and due to public demand we are now open late on Thursdays and occasional Saturdays. To accommodate clients we are also opening a second office in Motherwell.
Our social networks will keep you advised of our progress.
