Death by Dangerous Driving carries a maximum prison sentence of 14 years and minimum period of disqualification of two years. In addition to this, the driver must also pass an extended test of competency to drive before regaining a driving licence.

Death by Careless Driving carries a maximum prison sentence of five years and obligatory disqualification.
