Scullion News & Resources

Scullion LAW is proud to share that we have been awarded the Ministry of Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Gold Award. This is the highest honour the MoD gives to employers who give outstanding support to the armed forces community.

We now join a small group of organisations that show strong support for people who serve in the military, including reservists, veterans, and their families. The award was presented at a special black-tie event at Edinburgh Castle on 6 November. Our founder, Nicholas Scullion, attended and accepted the award for the whole firm.

Founder Nicholas Scullion receives the ERS Gold Award from His Grace the Duke of Hamilton, who is also the Honorary Air Commodore for 603 (City of Edinburgh) Squadron Royal Auxiliary Air Force.

The Gold Award is given to employers who show excellent care for the defence community. This includes offering flexible working, helpful employment policies, and publicly supporting the values held by service personnel.

“We’re absolutely delighted to receive the ERS Gold Award,” said Nicholas Scullion, Managing Director. “It represents years of effort and commitment from everyone at Scullion LAW as we’ve worked our way from Bronze through Silver and now to Gold. We’re proud to be an employer of choice that supports our people and the armed services. Scullion LAW will continue to build a workplace where the selflessness, sacrifice and dedication of those who serve is recognised and supported. It is the very least that we can do for them, considering all that they do for us.”

We offer real and ongoing support for serving personnel and veterans. This includes extra time off for training, flexible working, and a strong, positive culture based on leadership, resilience, and service. These values guide the way we work and help us deliver excellent service to our clients.

This national award shows once again that Scullion LAW is one of Scotland’s leading values-driven law firms, committed to integrity, excellence, and supporting the communities around us.

Our journey from Bronze to Silver and now to Gold has been led by Associate Director and Army Reservist Stephanie Grieve. Her leadership has helped us strengthen our support for reservists and the wider military community.

“The principles behind ERS Gold are universal,” says Stephanie. “When you care about your people, you strengthen your service. When you lead with integrity, clients feel it. This award proves that the standards we hold internally directly shape the quality of the work we do for others.”

This recognition comes during a time of growth and continued success for Scullion LAW, and it reinforces our place as one of Scotland’s most trusted and values-led law firms.
