Scullion LAW Continues to Empower Women in Leadership Roles

We’re thrilled to announce the promotion of our very own Shanna McDiarmid to Director of Operations and Performance. Shanna has been a beloved member of the Scullion LAW family for over 17 years. Watching her growth and evolution over nearly two decades has been incredibly rewarding.

As of January 1st, 2023, Shanna steps into this new leadership role, where she’ll coach and mentor our teams as we continue striving to become Scotland’s top legal service provider.

With Shanna’s promotion, over half of our executive board now consists of talented, dedicated women. We believe diverse leadership leads to greater innovation, empathy, and success. Shanna joins Gemma Miller and Diana McLeish, who were appointed directors last year, in forging this new path forward.

Our managing director, Nicholas Scullion, spoke glowingly about Shanna’s promotion, praising her constant support as a major factor in the early triumphs of our firm.

“My first hire was Shanna McDiarmid, and I know that without her constant help, support, and kindness, I would not have been able to achieve my goals. It has been an honour to coach her and watch her develop skills and confidence over the years, and she has been invaluable. We are incredibly proud of Shanna and her achievements, and we all look forward to a great year ahead.”

Shanna began her journey with us in an office junior role before quickly grasping our IT systems and eventually becoming Nicholas’ trusted PA. From there, she earned positions as a practice manager and executive director through sheer dedication and determination.

Regarding her new promotion, Shanna said:

“I am honoured to be given this opportunity. The team is fantastic to work with, and it’s easy to take on a new challenge when you love where you work. I very much look forward to the future and what it will bring.”
