Although I always had an interest in crime documentaries and courtroom drama, however, I never saw myself pursuing a career in this field. I just didn’t think it would be possible.
When it came to applying for university, like most young people I was at a loss I didn’t know what I wanted to do so I applied for a business degree. This is where I spent the next 3 years at university in a course that although I enjoyed, I was not passionate about. In my third year, I took a keen interest in a business law subject I had taken, and between that and watching Suits in my free time, I was convinced that this was what I was meant to do. So I applied to do an LLB at Strathclyde University and that is where my journey with the law really started.
I went into the LLB with the full intention of being a hot shot Commercial Litigator. However, after many courses undertaken around evidence, criminal law and listening to stories from my mum I just knew that the right path for me was Criminal Defence work.
I have always wanted to help people, I just didn’t know how I would go about doing that in my life. As soon as I started to explore a career in Criminal Law I knew that defending those who have found themselves in challenging situations was the way I was going to do it.
The main reason for this, my mum was a criminal lawyer and although I was so proud of all she has achieved I just didn’t think I would follow in her footsteps. However, I could not be more grateful and proud that I have had the opportunity to follow her in her career and her being my inspiration.
For 5 years during my time studying at university I worked part-time as a lifeguard at a private health club. This qualification led me to employment at a summer camp in Pennsylvania USA. I spent 3 months working in a summer camp as a lifeguard in a freshwater lake. I loved every second of it. I thereafter spent 2 months travelling the east coast of America. It was a wonderful experience which allowed me to grow as a person and discover an area of the world that I will always love.
I joined the firm in 2020 and I am a solicitor in the criminal and road traffic defence team.
I love that every day is different, every client is different and every case on its merits is different. Although some can be similar, no two days are the same.
I am good at instilling confidence in my clients and in their cases. I am a people person, I am personable, friendly, and a good listener. My main focus is for my clients to feel confident in the legal representation and in providing the result that they want.
I hope I can instil confidence in my clients, to allow them to feel confident that they have the right legal representation dealing with their case who will get them the result they want and deserve.
Hopefully, my 5-star reviews can allow future clients to see why they should hire me to help them.
